A sideways PDF page is a small but genuinely annoying problem — the content is all there, correctly scanned and readable, but viewing or printing it means constantly tilting your head or your printed page. Flatbed scanners and automatic document feeders don't always know which way is "up" for a given page — they simply capture whatever orientation the paper was fed in. Every PDF page has a rotation property as part of its definition, and changing that property simply tells PDF viewers to display the page at a different angle — the underlying text, vector graphics, and embedded images are untouched. This means rotating a PDF with this tool never reduces sharpness, never re-compresses embedded images, and never affects text selectability, unlike approaches that convert pages to images first.
All rotation happens locally in your browser using JavaScript — your PDF is never uploaded to a server, stored, or logged. If you're unsure how many degrees a page needs to rotate, a quick way to check is to look at which direction the text currently reads. If the text runs from bottom to top when held normally, a 90° rotation in one direction will usually fix it. If it runs top to bottom, rotate the other way. If the page is simply upside down with text reading right-side-up but inverted, 180° is what you need.
